I am going to be going to Browns Camp this Saturday. I have been asked to go by someone I have never wheeled with......SO......that said I have no idea how they wheel, or there attitude. We are meeting at Rodgers Camp at 9:30am. Hope to see others there! I think Dave's going.
I'm sure it would be a good thing if some of the club members showed up for support for the 2009 Komen Portland Race for the CureĀ®

Hey FiveandDime- It was good to see you on Saturday. Sorry I couldn't hang out with you and Curtis, I was really pushing my luck with Bobbi that day. ;D It was our date day, and I know she doesn't like wheeling. I used the donation booth as an excuse for a side trip on our way to Tillamook. On our way to find the booth I managed to run up and down hood raiser and a section of Archers. She was not digging it, so as much as I wanted to hang out and explore more with you guys, I knew I couldn't. On our way out from Can Opener I drove down Ample and Alluring... Going down that long steep hill I think I saw fear in her eyes. ;D On a positive note, she did say she would go again, but instead of riding around she would prefer to be dropped off and maintain / protect the base camp ;D

Jon, that's cool. I know how it is when you have to please the wife, that's why she wasn't riding with me that day. It was great to see you out there. I'm glad we were as late as you were getting there ;D
Now for the feature presentation! "movie theme please"

The day was a beautiful one at that, nice and crisp in the morning. We arrived at Rogers Camp staging area around 9:30 in the morning, to greet some fellow wheelers that we were going to be hitting the trails with. Joe, and Ret were there names, though Ret was a nickname that I never caught the reason for. Joe's wife Sonja was on the quad as were the kids, who all shuffled for passenger seat in the Suzuki Samurai now and then. Ret was in the red K5 Blazer along with his daughter who's name I never caught. Curtiss and his wife Jennifer were in the 1970 FJ40, and me and my buddy Nick were in my CJ3B. Our first trail was Cedar Tree. My buddy Nick had never done anything like this so we all though this is a perfect newbie trail, and its a great site seeing trail too. The lively bunch! Our crew for the day, well most of it. Our first casualty of the day, a loose power steering fitting that was showering the engine compartment with PS fluid. Not good! The fix for the situation came fast since we ran out of PS fluid filling up another rig we ran 10w-30 oil in it. Worked Great all day! This was another casualty, poor tree got smacked hard. The K5 had some body damage from this one. Just before hitting the next trail I had noticed my break pedal was a little soft. I started poking around and seen fluid all over the backing plate of my rear drivers side. CRAP! Good thing I have an inspection cover for my master cylinder I though. I opened it up and sure enough it was out or VERY close to it. Curtiss being the coolest friend in the whole wide world haha, gave me some fluid to use. "Mental note, get brake fluid to carry for the next trip". I filled it up, tightened the brake line and away we went. Next stop I discovered NO Beuno on the fix. So I crimped the line best I could only to later realize that my trusty carpenters hammer would smash the line for good keeping the last bit of fluid in. I had one less break but oh well. The next trail was Firebreak 5, we entered just above the big rock that's in the middle of the trail on the "chicken road" We all blew through this trail like nothing, so not too many pictures. We ended up up top by the crushers I think....don't have my map on me, hahaha Nice rack huh! I dont know Curtiss, uh huh, ok........gotcha!

After that we buzzed on over to Airplane Hill, where it was a ghost town. The K5 and Sami were the only two to try this one for the day. The blazer decided to trade paint with the tree for a while. His door was straight when he started and there was way more bark on the tree before, but that's how it goes sometimes. We also got the Polaris 4x4 quad through the filter. A bit easier then the rigs. The filter would claim the rear locker of the sami at the end. We then saw the K5 and the Sami off, while me and Curtiss went to Can Opener for the donation part of this run. We came across a interesting rig wiggling its way through the filter. It never made it, and broke a rear CV axle. They have a good filter now at the bottom, and there is a new steel post up top for a winch post as well as 2 different ways to go up top, a hard way and an easy way. Its way different then last time I was there. I wanted to try it but was running out of time and me and Curtiss had one goal in mind for the day, Rocky Uphill. Rocky Uphill was fun, both the rigs went up just fine. HEY Curtiss we fixed that flooding out problem on your rig, now I need to do mine haha. Other then me flooding out at the top a couple times it went flawless. I was running high air pressure since I was being lazy about airing down, I think I would have crawled up it without all that bouncing if I had less AP. No pics of me, but a good video. Now for the Videos!!!! s731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2757.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2724.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2727.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2731.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2733.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2745.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2746.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2747.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2748.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/TSF%20Donation%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2751.flvIt was a fun filled day. Our rides performed well and our bodies did the same. Had some fun wheeling with some new people and rigs. Couldn't complain about the weather, since the rain cut the dust down big time except for the gravel roads. Gad we went, and the Donations were good, we were told lots of people stepped up!
