Just wanted to drop a note to the group and say thanks again for the warm welcome at your meeting last night.
I mentioned to a couple of people, I have celiac disease (gluten intolerance). I'm not able to eat wheat or other grains. As a result I don't eat out very often.
So please don't be offended if I always turn down everything that is offered, I really wish I could have helped out with all the extra desserts. ;D

No problem Kevin,
The Crowder family tree branches out here to the Northwest from Missouri and Kentucky -- where food is love. So you will likely get called out if you're not eating something - I apologize in advance for future instances of forced feeding.
I will make sure we have some "gluten-free" snacks next time. Actually we usually do - Darel and some of the other members kind of do carb free thing so there is usually homemade summer sausage and homemade jerky and lots of cheeses. There was just so much food there last night that I didn't think we needed anymore.
Special thanks to Maureen for coming out early to help me get things ready and for bringing the corn-on-the-cob and the homemade berry cobbler "a-la-mode" --yummy.
Again Kevin, no worries about the food thing and it was great to meet you last night - we look forward to seeing you out on the trails.
Crystal
PS: I also have a blue glass dish with a lid that needs to find a home - anyone?

Please don't worry about getting special food together for me. I really am quite 'healthy', not hurting for grubbin' at all. ;D Unfortunately this disease is very sensitive to gluten, so even snacks that should be gluten free I will often pass on. I've been following this diet for nearly 7 years, and have learned in that time it just isn't worth the risk. My family is very food oriented as well, I get an unreasonable amount of home baked gluten free goodies. Everything has turned into a special occasion. My Mom has baked more cakes in the last 7 years than the whole time I was growing up, more batches of cookies too! Trust me, that's a lot.
