This should fit the stock Cherokee right? Or is it wider or narrower?
I am very interested.

it is a common swap into cherokees and is the same width if i remember. I kno a dana 30 swaps right into a ranger and the explorer 8.8 is same width as a stock ranger.

It is a smidge narrower than the YJ dana 35 (I think 1" on each side). I'm pretty sure it's the same case for the XJ as well. I'm in the middle preparing to swap one into my YJ. If you get the '96 and later, they are disc brake too.

LOL I feel like a real dork right about now.....not to mention a newb. Me and Ryan were headed back to my house after the PNW meeting to drop me off when he said I think you have an 8.25 rear end and not a 35 as we pulled into my driveway.....I said to be honest I had just assumed it was the 35....umm nope...Its the flat bottom and not a round one. So it looks like I wont be needing this rear end as of now. I would buy it if I had spare cash but right now I dont since I just purchased my lift.
Sorry about that! Feel free to laugh at me....hahaha

Actually there is quite a difference between the D35 and C8.25. the main one is that the axle tubes are thicker and bigger, The earlier model 27 spline ones were slightly better then the D35 but the later model mid 96 and up 8.25 were 29 spline axles. The housing, gears, tubes, and carrier are all better then the D35. I know the 8.8 will be a little stronger but a 29 spline 8.25 should handle at least 35's locked up with some good axles. I wont be going over 33's so Im good for now. I think lockers are about the same price over all, as well as axles so for me to spend the extra cash now just isnt worth it, though I would LOVE to have an 8.8 some day.

Actually the m35 in the xjs and yjs are the same width. And the 8.8s stock out of the xplorers are about 1" narrower per side. Either add wheel spacers to bring back to same as your rear end ant 100 bucks sourced just about anywhere and from myself at woody's made from billet aluminum or get the super 88 kit from superior axle and gear. which makes it the same width as you need and eliminates the c clips at the same time with HD chromoly axles. Also in stock at the shop.
