Tonight we will have Jerry Lyons, Ford ASSET instructor from Mt Hood CC as a guest speaker. Jerry is on the front lines of factory sponsored technician training and can give us a view into just what direction things are going in that regard. Should be very informative.
Also, tonight we will begin disassembly and inspection of the Vega rear end. We need to assess the total damage; i.e. cracks in the housing; before we start the repairs.

Moose Jerry Lyons is great Guy get all the info you can out of him. I worked with him on multiple projects when I was apart of the. NWMA ( north west motorsports association.)

Well, we got the rear end apart. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be! I'll never be able to figure out just how a piece of spider gear the size of my thumb got into the oil passages ahead of the pinion, though. Brandon, you really broke this one good!!

Did you find the parts you need? I spoke to another of my race car friends, we were both called to a vehicle into Cedar Creek this morning, he asked if it was an 8.2" or 8.5". Also asked which R&P ratio you needed.

Also asked which R&P ratio you needed. The 41 tooth ring gear is 7 3/4 in diameter, 14 tooth pinion. 74 Vega. Case and axles are ok, just need all the guts.
