Thanks! I had to take the intake plenum off though because I got excited and put the engine and transmission in before wiring any of it, so now I'm trying to tie up all the loose ends! No pictures tonight, because there's nothing to show, but I've got almost all the wiring done.
Then, when I was hooking up the clutch slave cylinder, it burst in my face... I guess it has to happen at least once to everyone... So I replaced that tonight...
Do you know what sensor I could wire up a switch inside the cab to get idle up? I'd use it for when I get the york hooked up so I can just switch it on, hop out and air up the tires etc... I was thinking maybe power steering, because I don't have A/C...
So everything's back together, I'm working on getting the vacuum hoses in the right order, but other than that, it cranks over fine. Seems to not be getting fuel... starts when we spray starting fluid, and there's fuel pressure at the cold start injector, so I assume there's fuel in the fuel rail...
Dang! Yeah, the power source will be fed straight from the battery, to a normally open relay, which will be switched closed with an accessory wire which I'll tap. I was thinking of using that way there's no WAY I could even have power to the 'power' switch on the dash unless the motor is running. It's a bit more expensive, but I'd rather pay $5 extra bucks for a relay than wish I hadn't forgotten to leave a switch on.
I ran my multimeter and tested for resistance of the electromagnetic clutch... only 4 Ohms resistance. 12v/4ohms=3amps. so there's nothing too crazy running through it. If I can, I'll use a few relays just in case, but my fuse panel will have 5 amp fuses as backup safety... Better days ahead... no more scuba tank!
Just wanted to post a quick video of where I'm at so far. I've got the vacuum lines mostly sorted... Right now, I'm trying to wire in an A/C idle up VSV so that I'll have a fast idle setting for the York...
Just removing it to clean and paint. Later (as in years from now haha) I plan on doing an ex cab swap and fab up a flat bed... I really like the short wheelbase, but I also like the look and roominess of the excab on standard cab frame.
Right now, I'm working on cleaning this up and getting keys made:
ExCabSwap: The wind there looks horrible... Still worth it haha

poorboy: Can somebody give me the official rules for the Cowbell please?
May 8, 2016 15:26:47 GMT -8
Wyldman: The Cowbell... If you are a club member and you're on one of our wheelin' trips. If you get stuck on an obstacle and have to be pulled out by your winch or someone elses winch/strap. You earn the Cowbell.

poorboy: Wyldman, I got to see the passing of the bell at the meeting and learned quite a bit about the tradition.
