Our official run for March is coming up. I am thinking Sand Lake.
Can run Trucks or Quads.. or bring em both.
I figure if weather looks real bad.. may end up with more of us in trucks,, if weather is ok,, more quads.
Post up with your interest in this idea.
I also think it would be fun to have survey streamers on our flag poles so we can instantly tell members of our group ( even with helmets on )

Been a while since sand lake... so lets go ! March 27th !
gonna be a whole club event.. any 4x4 or quad or cycle can go.
We will each wear streamers on our flag poles so we can recognize each other in our helmets and rigs.
We will have a couple of meeting times and places to get us all back together throughout the day.. and then.. Chineese Food in Tillamook afterwards.
We will meet for a caravan down to Tillamook in the morning
ATV permits are required for any vehicle on the sand. ( even for a second ) and red or orange flags are required for each as well.
I will supply the streamers.

I think we can make this one.....March is very busy for me but I think this is the only weekend I'm not doing something ;D I will bring the XJ and maybe the banshee and 350X if its not raining.
If I remember a Oregon OHV tag and a Flag is all we have to have for our "street legal" rigs right....no helmets required inside the vehicles for me and kayla.

correct... can be WA or OR orv permit. on each vehicle on the sand. also flag for each vehicle on the sand. Helmets for non street legal vehicles ( ie buggys, rails,, quads and cycles ).
and regarding meeting time for caravan.. will post later.. will likely be early AM 8?

What are the chances of camping out Friday night there?

yes... Feel free to make a camp out out of this..
I will not be able to camp as I have to work both nights... at least one?
I would think there would be no problem with camping in the campground ( $20 per night? ). and also can camp in the parking lot and on the sand for less. Sand camper must have a filled and usable porta potty for each family. and of course.. no alcohol on the sand at all.. camp ground and parking lot is ok for alcohol. never ok to be on the and and under the infuence.
I will post up more details later... including meeting times and places and cb contact channel... etc. Dave.

Competition Hill stands alone as the king, though. I grew up in San Diego and just moved here in September. I love the sand, too! Let's talk.

We've been there many times(Sand Lake and Glamis) it really is like comparing apple to oranges. Glamis is aprox 20 sq miles with dunes up to 800 ft high. Sand Lake is aprox what..5 sq miles at most. But sand is sand and good company and play partners are always worth the trip.... ;D What brought you to the PNW? Hope it is going well for you Looking forward to meeting ya'll next month if not sooner.... regards, w
