We are going to head up to Evans Creek ORV Park Friday July 30 thru at least July 31 maybe Aug 1, depending on the wishes of the participants. I have a friend (Dan) in the "Faith Wheelers" club, who lives very close to the park and has graciously said he would co-lead this with me. It is going to be very important to have someone from our group, going up, to be there mid-day Friday to save enough space for everyone. It is first come first serve on all the camping sites. I believe Dan will be able to help out with that, but I don't want to put this all on him. The park will accommodate large truck trailer combos. There is good wheelin' for everyone so don't be shy.
Evans Creek is just outside of the town Buckley, Wa, which is southeast of Puyallop, Wa, about 2 1/2 hrs from here. The road into the park can be pretty pot-holey. (is that a word... well it is now) Please make a note to be patience.
I going to need to know exactly how many people, rigs, truck trailer and travel trailers combos are going so we can make appropriate arrangements to accommodate us all. The weather can be very wet, even in the middle of summer up there, so plan accordingly.
Until Then... Enjoy!

You should be alright.....Most all trails will accommodate full size. Check out Wyldmans pics from last time he came up. It is a good representation of what to expect...

I'm going to try and make it up there for this run. I made a trip to Evans back in March, and it was a total blast up there. Very tight trails from what I saw though. They really test your patience and technique. Even in an XJ, some corners were extremely tight (Switchback Trail?).
I'll confirm whether I'm in or not a little closer to the date.

Do you know if there is cell service in the area? Our son and daughter-in-law are expecting about that time and I don't want to be too far away from cell service. Could you check with your friend and see? Thanks.
If there is good service then you can count Winton and me as a go.

You probably will want to borrow my tent for this.

There is a lookout just up from the campgroung that is consistently strong with signal...AT&T not so much...you have to go almost down to Wilkeson for service..

Do you know if there are any HAM repeaters in the area? I haven't gotten my directory yet. Cathy and I are thinking about coming. Depends on if the daughter gets the sleeping bags cleaned in time.

I just realized something... The Friday we are going to Evans Creek is July 30th, not 31st, and we can stay until Sunday Aug 1st. Please make a note of it.
