To everyone that is planning on going.I talked to Dan today and here is the update: He is planning on being up there Thursday night to start saving us some space (which is awesome). However, I need ALL you to post up and let me know what your sleeping arrangement is going to include (i.e. tent, toy hauler, motor home with/without trailer... ect.) He is going to figure out, based on this info, where we can stay together. I'm going to take off Friday from work so I can join the Jondahl's and Crowders in a caravan up Friday morning. If anyone else wants to join us let me know. If your planning on coming up for the day or for Saturday and Sunday. We will be leaving the camp site at approx. 9:00 am. Let me know if that is your intention so we will look for your arrival. At this time we will be on CB chan 4. Only a suggestion: If you are part of group of guys who are going solo and sleeping in a tent. If you can room together in a large tent to save space that could help. Only a suggestion though. Update on the pass required: The pass required is a Northwest Forest Pass www.discovernw.org/store_annual-northwest-forest-pass-national-forests-in-washington-and-oregon-only_09942.htmlThese can be purchased for the weekend for $5.00 at the Chevron station in Burnett, Wa or a store in Wilkeson. This will cover the whole weekend. This is your last chance for gas also. There is no fee for camping. Dan belongs to a club known as Wazuks. Some of their members will be joining us for this adventure. Here is the web address to see the posts about this trip. www.wazuks.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1639So... Hopefully I have covered everything. Because of the size of this group (us and them) PLEASE let me know the info I've asked for soon, so I can process it properly. I look forward to a great turn out and a really fun weekend. Wyldman

I put in for Fri-Sun off, so I should be able to leave Friday morning as well.
I'll just need a spot for a small two man tent, and a place to park the Jeep. I pack light. ;D

What is your sleeping arrangement going to be? Thanks, Douglas P.S. Winton and Maureen... The height of your vehicle should be fine according to Dan. His toy hauler is about 12' tall and he said he has no problems we any obstructions.

Has any one found out if we have to have the Wa. off road registration too. We have heard yes and no but if I dont have to give the state another 70 bucks it would be nice.

Has any one found out if we have to have the Wa. off road registration too. We have heard yes and no but if I dont have to give the state another 70 bucks it would be nice. The only pass that is required is the "Northwest Forest Pass". I'm going to check, but I think Fred Meyer has them. I will let you know or if you want to check you can. I still need people to post up and let me know what you Driving/Sleeping arrangements are going to be. Dan is going up this weekend to do some reconnaissances, so it would sure be helpful to know ahead of time if you know you're going. If you're coming up for the day, let me know that also, so we can keep a watch out for you. Camp fires are allowed so if you want to bring some fire wood that would be terrific. Now on to something much more important... Well equally important... FoodAre we going to try and organize some food activity for Saturday Night (i.e. Pot Luck or everyone bring some large form of beef and a lot of fire wood and I will grill it up for everyone) or are we just going to wing it? I'm open for suggestions. Dan will post up with any corrections if I have misinformed you. Please keep me informed, Douglas

Douglas Here's a link to find a dealer near you. www.fs.fed.us/r6/passespermits/vendors.phpDay passes are available for $5 www.fs.fed.us/r6/passespermits/nfdp.shtmlAnnual passes are available for $30 www.fs.fed.us/r6/passespermits/nwfp.shtmlLast time I was up there, I purchased a day pass at the Chevron in Burnett on the way up. I'm not sure if a "weekend" pass is available, but if you plan on making another trip up there an annual pass may be the way to go. I know locally the Gifford Pinchot HQ's off SR500 has them available.

Douglas - so sorry I haven't let you know our plans. Right now our plans are to tent camp Friday and Saturday nights. We will head up to Renton on Friday and swap trucks with our son and then head on down.
I would love to do some sort of potluck - can someone bring a BBQ? If you want just have everyone bring their own meat and either a salad or dessert to share - that makes the planning a little easier.
Looking forward to some good times wheeling. I have not been to this area but am looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for putting it all together.

Food, I think Maureen's idea is a good one. I can bring a salad and my own meat. I can also bring my little BBQ. If someone with a flatbed wants to bring a big one up that would be cool.
Wood, I can bring a little wood but I dont have much, I bet if we all bring a little we would be good. I will try to remember my kindling (fresh shavings of pine off the planer at work)!
