Is there any hulk cars being taken care of this time? At any rate I am there! Also is there going to be a map posted so the folks that don't know the area can see where to go?

Any and all of the equipment is available for the day if we need it please let me know. I can't wait for this day. Since we have been coming to Piston's Wild we have wanted to help but haven’t had a day to do so. Can't Wait!!!!!!

Thank you to everyone for getting behind this effort. Joey - Yes - there will be some hulk vehicles that we will be removing - I am working out the equipment details on that. We usually send teams out to recover them to the gravel roads and then Darel usually picks them up with an off-road forklift and puts them in a pile for the wreckers to pick up. MAYBE, just maybe, someone we know (trdoffrd maybe) can help me convince Sunbelt Rentals to loan us an off-road ForkLift again for this year's clean-up like they did in 2007 . . . ? Shane - I woul like to put a "hold" on the tractor for that day if that's OK - I will know more in a few weeks. But we could DEFINITELY use the dump trailer - everyone shows up in Jeeps - although they are a bunch of fun - they don't haul much trash... Trucks with empty beds are always needed for this event. Curtis - thank you for the connection with your wife Jennifer at Waste Connections - we are working through that request today... Jon - great idea on the PayPal account for accepting donations. I am finishing up the paperwork today (there is a bunch of it for a non-profit to have a PayPal account). As soon as we've waded throught the red tape - you will see donation "buttons" on both the Piston's Wild forum and website. I am also working on a letter we can send to contributors that will provide them our Tax ID# so their donation is tax deductible... One more thing I need some help with is possibly convincing Les Schwab to accept the tires and wheels that are littering the forest. Those are SOOOO expensive to get rid of and any help with this would be awesome -- do we have any Schwab connections on the forum??? Thank you again for everyone's support of this project - your efforts are making my job easier so that I have more time to focus on getting money for BUILDING 4x4 TRAILS! Keep the offers and ideas coming - this is the kind of stuff that makes my day... Crystal

Crystal,
I dont know for sure if "we" have any connections with Les Schwab in our group but I bet if we talked to Rescue Ranger from Poorboy and PNW4x4's. I believe he works for Schwabs. His name escapes me at the moment but he may have a contact that is closer and may know just how to sweet talk them into taking them.
He has been to the clean-ups before with us. His wife? was the one on crutches that I think last year that painted the gate for us.
I want to say his name is Ken but I am not sure on that. Anyone else know who I am talking about? (hootie, I hear a who does this ring a bell to you?)

I'll send an email to Tire Disposal and Recycling Inc over in Portland and see if they wouldn't be willing to donate a pick up service and the disposal. I don't have any connections, but figured the worst they can do is say no or blow me off. How many tires did you guys get last year / how many should I tell them we would need picked up? I assume it would be ok to say we could get them to one central location in the burn for them to pick up? Hmmm... they do have a Tire Disposal license for Washington, but I wonder if DNR would require them to have anything esle (because they would be picked up from DNR land)?
Again - I don't have any connections, so they may just blow me off and never respond, but figured I'd at least ask.

I will definitely be there with a 5x10 utility trailer to haul whatever. Just let me know what other items you need? If I have it, I will bring it.

I know I'm game for a recovery effort. I don't have a truck worthy of hauling anything and no trailers for the effort either I do however have a winch, strap, shackles, snatch block, and plenty of chain!!!! I can also use my two hands for trash as well! I know my brother is interested in coming, and to be honest probably only if we do a car recovery......may be a way to sucker him in for good though LOL I can make those "stick with nail" jobbers for people if we need something like that for trash pickup? Crystal, is there a list of basic needs to bring. I have never been on one of these clean-ups so gloves I know but what else for those of us who have never done this before. Thanks!

Crystal I will bring the dump trailer. I think is 18 or 20 ft long and it will dump 10,000lbs so it should help allot. I will try to call some of my conections with Les Schwab and see if I can get them to take the tires. We might half to drop them off (witch I don't mind doing) but we might half to also load them into there trailer. So I might need some help with that, but let me see and I will get back to ya. No prob on the tractor I just figured I would offer it for use. I do have a forklift attachment but it will only lift 1100 lbs. My brother works at sunbelt also so if trdoffrd can't get one i might be able to through my brother.

If by chance we can get someone to take the tires and they are in Portland I would be willing to deliver them as well. If needed I can bring my truck and if someone has a small utility trailer (w/sides) I could borrow. My only small trailer is a flatbed with no sides I guess I could stack them on there and chain them down.
My truck wouldnt be going off of gravel roads but it will haul lots of stuff. Weight wise wouldnt be an issue.
Crystal, let me know if you want me to bring the truck and flat bed utility or flat bed car trailer.
